“CHANGE YOUR THINKING AND YOU’LL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.”
- MAT BOGGS
Event | Cracking the MAN Code Seminar
Location | The Wedding Pantry
So David got asked to speak on The Man Panel at the Cracking the Man Code Seminar.
what’s the cracking the man code seminar?
Taken from their site, it’s essentially a light-hearted and love-minded presentation for women to learn (to name just a few):
- “attraction triggers”
- 5 things most men look for in a lifelong partner
- how America’s greatest marriages attract love
- mistakes women make in new relationships
It’s led by Mat Boggs.
who’s Mat Boggs?
Seen on Oprah and Friends, CNN Showbiz Tonight, The Today Show, CNN Headline News, The Hallmark Channel and The Style Network, Mat Boggs is a bachelor “dedicated to increasing love in the world one heart at a time.”

Mat opened the seminar with a poignant statement.

“WHEN YOU WERE 14, WHAT DID YOU WANT MOST IN THE WORLD? FOR ME, I WANTED MY PARENTS TO GET BACK TOGETHER.”
- MAT BOGGS

Immediately, he captured my attention. Coming from a divorced home, my heart really resounded with that longing he had expressed so honestly.
After his parents’ divorce, Mat witnessed five other divorces in his family. Vowing not to repeat his family’s divorces, he went across all of America and interviewed over 300 couples who were happily married and wrote his best-selling book, Project Everlasting: Two Bachelors Discover the Secrets of America’s Greatest Marriages.
There were so many jewels of great advice on marriage, love, relationships shared that evening. AND Mat’s salsa dancing HA! So fun.

“MEN DON’T SPEAK HINT.”
- MAT BOGGS

He shared a movie clip from his documentary for Project Everlasting of this adorable old couple Ruth and Eddie:
“People ask us if we’ve ever thought of divorce. We tell them, ‘Divorce? Seldom. Murder? Often.’”
Priceless.
Then, came the special MAN-Panel Q&A Session where the ladies were allowed to ask ANY burning question they might have. The guys were specifically directed to tell ONLY the TRUTH.
David answered questions honestly from his experience and our love story, both the challenges and growth it took…and still takes.
But I bubbled up with pride (and lots of oxytocin) from the love he shared. David had cracked my complicated code so many times over. I left all the more grateful that God had given me such an incredible husband who understood me so well…and who cared so much about events and times like this one.
The subject of lifelong love and relationships is one of our deepest passions. As much as we absolutely love the wedding day, it’s not all about that. It’s about every day following, the good, the bad, the ugly, the lovely, the numb, the heart-wrenching, the ecstatic. It’s love, for a lifetime.
thank you
A special THANK YOU to the lovely Wedding Pantry and Eva Chiou for the amazing opportunity and for her kind invitation to have David speak. It was truly a blessing!
Lastly, a special BIG thank you to Mat Boggs for the inspiration, the humor, and the audacity to speak to a generation jaded by so many divorced homes that love really can…last.
